Our name is somewhat of a misnomer since most of our members are no longer young, but we are young at heart!

We are a close group that hosts different social events throughout the year. Our general meeting follows a delicious dinner at Swiss Park every January. In March we host a friendly game of Jass where approximately 30 people meet at Swiss Park on a Sunday afternoon to play the popular Swiss card game. During Jass the traditional meals of Zuepfe, Wuerstli, and rolls are served. Also in March, we host an authentic Raclette dinner, on a Sunday evening, at Swiss Park. In July we volunteer at the Swiss Fair with many of our members taking on leadership positions in the fair. Towards the end of the year, in October, we have a cheese fondue dinner for our members and guests. December brings our most anticipated event; the Samichlaus Party! For many, this is the highlight of the year and a great start for the Christmas season. It is a holiday lunch buffet with crafts for children and a cookie exchange followed by the arrival of Santa. Members bring their children or grandchildren to meet Samichlaus where he amazes the children by knowing facts about them, thanks to notes from their parents.

Matterhorn members are always happy to welcome new members! We are joyous bunch that likes to eat traditional Swiss foods, enjoy each other’s company, and have fun.
